When we arrived at the Wood, we instantly fell in love. The entire place is just glowing and you almost don’t know where to look as there is just SO much going on. It really is the perfect Autumnal activity! Everyone is wrapped up in big coats, wellies, hats & scarves so even though you are out in the cold (and a little bit of rain!) it still feels cosy.
As soon as we got into the wood, we stopped at the first refreshment hut for some hot chocolates to heat us up a little bit. I am so basic, but it made me so happy that there was hot drinks, mulled wine and a variety of Autumn treats on offer in all of the food/drink tents. Once we had walked around half of the forest, we stopped for some burgers as well – which were very good! I actually spotted some little bonfires as well where people were toasting marshmallows, so I’m a little gutted that we didn’t get to do that now!
All in all, the Enchanted Forest was 100% worth the drive up north. I’d highly recommend buying tickets next year, whether you are based in Scotland or not as there is so many B&Bs and other activities to do in the area so it could turn into a nice little mini-break! It’s perfect for kids as well, so really whatever your age is – you’re going to love it.
Some tips if you are going – dress appropriately. The trail around the wood is pretty much flat in most places but it does get quite muddy and slippy so wear appropriate footwear (I didn’t & seriously regretted it)! Also, dress warmly and be prepared for the rain as this is Scotland and most likely there will be some showers. Just get into the Autumn/Winter spirit with the hats, scarves & gloves!
