The AW16 Trend Piece
Pleated midi skirts have been everywhere this season and I personally love the trend. It’s nice to be able to wear a longer length in the winter months as it offers a much more feminine alternative to jeans. So when I seen this pink pleated skirt from Topshop was also velvet, I knew I had to get involved.
I am obsessed with blush pink at the moment (and I think everyone else is too!) so I really wanted to get a pleated skirt in that colour. Unfortunately this skirt is now sold out online (boo Topshop!) but I managed to nab this in store. I’m going to be linking lots of other similar options though, so don’t fret if you really want to find a gorgeous pleated midi skirt!
I think I’m going to be wearing this pink pleated skirt non-stop over both the festive season and the winter to come! I like making it more casual with a grey polo neck however it would also look great jazzed up with a sequinned top and heels.
Also, the fabric is just to die for. It is quite a heavy velvet, so it falls quite straight which I think is very flattering on a more curvy shape like mine. It also makes it very swishy and princess-like. Which, of course, is a big plus.
