The Perfect Gingham Skirt

I am not the biggest fan of Spring/Summer dressing. If you seen my recent ASOS holiday haul you might know that I have some difficulty getting things to fit me – especially denim shorts! However, one Spring/Summer item that I have recently bought is this gingham skirt from Marks and Spencer and I am in love.

It is high waisted, tiered, ruffled, the perfect long-midi length. The fabric is also fabulously light, which makes it perfect for when the weather is warmer. I’m on holiday in Spain at the moment and I wore this out to a local market (basically, where it was busy and warm and a bit chaotic!). It was so comfortable to wear and (if I say so myself) rather flattering!

Another thing that I love about this gingham skirt is that it can be styled in so many ways. Here I’ve paired it with a white lace bardot-style top (it’s quite old, but I’ve linked an alternative above!) but it looks great with a t-shirt tucked into it too or styling it up with some heels and a blazer for a more formal look.

Unfortunately I think it is almost sold out online – but M&S is normally pretty good at restocking items and it will possibly be available in store! Marks and Spencer is fast becoming my favourite high-street shop at the moment. The styles, the quality, the fit & the price are ticking all my boxes. If you still think M&S is a shop for your mum or gran I would really encourage you to go in & have a look!

So that was my little ode to this gingham skirt. I’ve been really enjoying creating more fashion/style related content recently! I normally post more daily outfits over on my Instagram (find me here!) but I’m definitely going to be including more here on my blog.

I’d love to hear about your thoughts on Spring/Summer clothing. Do you prefer it? I do enjoy the warmer seasons, but I think I’ll always be an Autumn/Winter gal at heart!
